EAR Seymore February 7, 2010-January 28, 2012

Ever friendly & fun loving, Seymore enjoyed watching TV on the couch with his rattie buds. The last film he watched was The Man Who fell To Earth. He was born on the day our rat Rafael died, before Super Bowl 44, making the day a little nicer. A tumor started growing in his face about a month before his passing.
He was an agouti with dumbo ears & a standard coat with many pretty shades in it. His parents were RFCR Gimli & FFCR Oasis. Pedigree

EAR Sonic July 12, 2009-October 7, 2011

Sonic was our huge squishy rat. He was a very well mannered rattie. He passed peacefully in his sleep with no signs of health issues and hardly any signs of aging. He was still very active daily. He was a burmese, dumbo ear, standard coat rat but his guard hairs were long and soft. He was like a big stuffed pet about the size of a Webkinz. His parents were RFCR Donatello & RFCR Pearl.

EAR Jewels July 12, 2009-August 16, 2011

Carrying on the gem names for the girls, Jewels was the next in line for our burmese mommas. She was an active and friendly girl and did not have any tumors or health issues or aging degenerations when she died. She was a dumbo ear, standard coat whose parents were RFCR Donatello x RFCR Pearl.

RFCR Pearl January 9, 2009-May 25, 2011

Pearly girl was the momma of our first litter and a very even tempered lady. She developed a mammary tumor that began growing around the time of her second birthday and which she drug around with her for almost 6 mos. It finally got too much for her and she passed in her sleep. She lived a long, happy life. She was a sable burmese, dumbo ear and her parents were RRLM Sage x FAR Posha

Black & White Rex
Fred came here after his owner needed to rehome him & EAR Reece.
He was only with us a short time. We have no health history or age on him. He was very friendly with people & his cagemate, Reece, but attacked & killed 2 of our older rats on seperate occasions. He never exhibited any agression towards any of the younger male rats. We have never had any agression issues with any of our rats & this whole ordeal was a total shock for all of us. Due to these issues and some odd behaviors he exibited we believe he may have come to us with a brain tumor. All of were rats have unaffected healthwise so he was not suffering from anything contagious.

RFCR-DOT Laureus October 2, 2008-March 27, 2011

Laureus was a feisty but loyal friend to one of our sons & could always be found watching TV, surfing the Internet or just hanging out on his shoulder while he took walks. He burst the blood vessels in his ears as a young rat & they swelled & he had vet care and his ears were never the same and had a very humorous deflated look to them. He was old and had a tumor but an accidental encounter when he was put in the wrong cage in the middle of the night with another rat that we had rehomed led to his eventual death a day after the wounds were inflicted. He was an agouti Irish, black eyed, standard coat, standard ear. His parents were DOT Vaughn Icky x Fafi of RFCR

RFCR Gimli February 26, 2009-March 19, 2011

Gimli was the most awesome rat ever! He was an agouti dwarf, dumbo ear, standard coat cutie pie who loved to escape his cage and was often found curled up in a child's bedding. He was very mellow tempered. His unfortunate end was due to a momentary lapse of judgement as we put him in with a new rat that we had rescued & the rat (who had been very sweet with all the other male rats & our children), killed him in less than 3 seconds with a bite to his heart & head. All we can figure is that he mistook him for a mouse because of his size. We have never had any violence amongst our rats & were in shock because of this incident. His parents were FAR Doc x FAR Vixen.

RFCR Donatello December 12, 2008-March 18, 2011

Donatello was a cool rat who loved riding on my son's shoulder. He died of old age with no sorts of health complications. He was a red eyed siamese, dumbo ear and his parents were RRLM Wilbur x SHFR Ivory.

FFCR Oasis May 13, 2009-February 19, 2011

Oasis will be missed. She passed before her time. She was the victim of an accidental poisoning after she licked household cleaner off the wall behind the couch she was hanging out on. She died in the arms of her people telling her how much they loved her. She was an American Blue Self Dumbo and her parents were RFCR Taboo x NAVY Ocean

Tasi of RFCR April 2008-January 11, 2011

Tasi was the sweetest, gentlest lady ever. She groomed all people and rats she came in contact with. In her old age she was a spry lady that peacefully passed in her sleep without any health complications.

RFCR Ruby December 12, 2008-August 16, 2010

Ruby was Donatello's sister. We tried to mate her with Gimli but the dwarf would have nothing to do with this crazy gigantor girl. She never did get a chance to be a mommy. She was wild and crazy but was also very sweet.

Alexander of EAR June 2007-April 10, 2010

Alexander was a dear rattie from our first Petsmart boys (Reepicheep, Remy & Alexander). He lived to be a ripe old age and was spry until his last breath. He used to love running in the outside pool area and exploring.

EAR Logan July 12, 2009-February 8, 2010

Logan was a great young rat. He died suddenly the day after Rafael died with similar symptoms. They were cagemates, but their other two cagemates had no symptoms and are alive and well. Some rat enthusiast friends have suggested he might have died of a broken heart. The other mystery diagnosis would be secondary infection, he went within two hours of developing lethargy and listlissness. He was a burmese, dumbo ear, standard coat.

RFCR Rafael November 11, 2008-February 7, 2010

Raf was everyone's favorite rat. He was often found sitting atop our teen son's shoulder. He will be greatly missed! He died of complications of bumblefoot treatment, most likely from ingesting topical sore treatments and/or secondary infection. He made it through the first night of symptoms and was much improved the next day, we thought he was on the road to recovery, but he never quite made it back and died during the night four days after onset of symptoms. He was a black berkshire velveteen with standard ears. His parents were RFCR Onyx Edition x Tasi of RFCR

The one that started it all

This is the baby rat Ethan found in our backyard in May 2008. It only lived a few days and never grew much but it squeaked and squirmed and was happy to be fed and cared for. One reason it might not have lived is it might have had health problems that the mother knew about and she tossed it out of the nest knowing it wasn't going to live. It was a good experience in responsibility as orphaned baby rats need frequent feedings and massages to help them eliminate after every meal and to be kept warm and dry. Ethan did his best and was very sad when the baby passed. But this started his journey of wanting to keep, care for, and breed rats. It has now been named "Fox".
